BAM UK & Ireland are recruiting a HR Business Partner to cover sites between Wellingborough and London with further UK travel required.
The Human Resources Business Partner will play a strategic role in driving the delivery and implementation of the Segment People Strategy, which supports both the divisional and Segment purpose, vision, mission and overall objectives.
The HR Business Partner will act as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to operational leaders across BAM UK&I, working collaboratively with the wider People team to lead delivery of key strategic initiatives with the Centres of Excellence and wider People function.
Making Possible
• Lead and advise on all Human Resources matters including performance management, complex employee relations, absence management and organisation design.
• Act as strategic partner to the business unit operational teams, working collaboratively with managers to deliver HR initiatives within their business area to deliver the Segment and business unit strategy, plans and objectives.
• Drive succession planning initiatives for critical roles across UK operations, identifying and developing internal talent pipelines to support business continuity and growth.
• Lead performance management strategy including goal setting, talent reviews, and performance improvement initiatives aligned to business objectives.
• Conduct workforce analytics and implement People metrics frameworks to measure the effectiveness of policies, procedures and strategy, presenting insights to leadership.
• Lead the implementation of people-related policy and process governance across the BAM.
• Drive continuous improvements in systems, policies and procedures through external market trends, insight and internal best practice.
• Champion a culture of learning and development, working with managers to effectively drive the Perform and Develop process.
• Lead complex employee relations matters including disciplinary actions and grievances, providing expert guidance on UK employment legislation compliance.
• Develop evidence-based solutions and interventions through analysis of People data and metrics to identify trends and investigate root causes of people related issues.
• Lead and coordinate cross business unit projects and initiatives to standardise practices across BAM with measurable business impact.
• Maintain current knowledge of external Human Resources and industry trends and best practice.

What do you bring to the role?
Essential:
• Minimum 5-7 years progressive Human Resources experience with at least 3 years in strategic business partner roles
• Degree qualified in Human Resources, Business, or related discipline
• CIPD qualification at Chartered level or working towards this level
• Proven track record of managing complex employee relations cases and strategic People initiatives
• Demonstrable experience in workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with ability to build relationships at all levels
• Proficiency in Excel and other business systems/tools for data analysis
• Full clean driving licence with willingness to travel nationwide(company car/car allowance provided)
Preferred:
• Experience supporting organisational change initiatives
• Understanding of construction industry workforce challenges including skills shortages and project-based employment
