BAM UK & Ireland Division is recruiting an experienced communicator to take on the role of Supply Chain Communication Manager, to help build proactive and effective partnerships. BAM UK & Ireland consists of three core segments: Construction, Infrastructure and Ireland.

 

Communications within the BAM UK & Ireland Division is a core strategic function which drives awareness, understanding and engagement across our diverse audiences. We use insight, knowledge and analysis of our business and our people and supply chain to engage them with our work and our products and services in the most impactful and effective way. The successful candidate will understand the strategic importance of supply chain partnership and communications to build clear understanding of our goals, values and advocacy for our business. We need a self-starting energetic communicator, with a passion for telling stories of success and celebrating the people behind them.

Making Possible

The Supply Chain Communication Manager is responsible for supporting the Head of Internal Communications to deliver supply chain focused communication and engagement activity to time and budget.

The Supplier Chain Communication Manager will lead a variety of activities to build productive supplier relationships aligned to our BAM’s Values and supporting simple and effective ways of working. Providing focus on strategic priorities such as safety and wellbeing, and being part of a positive and inclusive environment.

 

Main responsibilities 

  • Report to the Head of Internal Communication, providing administrative and project management support to maintain supply chain stakeholder communication and engagement strategy and plans.
  • Work closely with the Supply Chain and Procurement teams to gain a clear understanding of priorities, risks and opportunities.
  • Liaise with the supply chain or suppliers and subcontractor, to build productive relationships, co-ordinating communication activity as well as preparing and issuing supply chain, suppliers and subcontractor news updates
  • To ensure supply chain communication activity is tracked and managed efficiently in a timely manner, appropriate for the target audience [including digital media]
  • Develop and maintain the supply chain communication and engagement calendar
  • Lead on the delivery and manage the logistics around supply chain engagement events designed to improve the quality of communication between the business and the supply chain
  • Source and create content for the Supply Chain Portal, ensuring there is a schedule of content and it is regularly refreshed, aligned to core business priorities and topics.
  • Operate and maintain supply chain distribution lists, working closely with the supply chain team.
  • Support the management of supply chain feedback and maintain a question log for response and circulation
  • Lead business topical campaigns that can have a positive impact on our supply chain such as Safe & Well
  • Liaise with key stakeholders, to build productive relationships, co-ordinating communication activity as well as preparing and issuing communications as required

What do you bring to the role?

You will be a proven strategic communicator who can define, lead and execute communications to our supply chain across BAM UK & Ireland Division. A creative writer – someone who can turn their hand to develop creative content for our campaigns and engagement activities.

You will be recognised as a specialist in the delivery of communication solutions, as well as an all-round project manager with excellent attention to detail.

You will have experience and knowledge of detailed engagement, communications and campaign delivery across multiple channels, focused on strategy and planning, but with the experience of execution and measurement.

 

Subject/Sector Expertise

  • Track record of being able to transform technical information into understandable and appealing copy for a wider audience of stakeholders.
  • Ability to speak to senior leaders, understand a brief and to turn that into a deliverable communications plan or campaign.
  • A clear understanding of the purpose of effective communications within a large organisation and the ability tell a story and take our supply chain colleagues on a journey.
  • Experience of running large events, from logistics to content creation.
  • Experience of working in a communications role within a large and complex organisation, transforming technical information into engaging communications.
