The Planning Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and developing a team of planners to ensure effective project planning, programme control, and performance management across a portfolio of construction projects. The role will drive best-in-class planning standards, support project delivery teams, and provide strategic programme oversight to the Head of Planning (Ireland).
This role will be based out of our Kill, Kildare office.

Making Possible
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4–6 planners across multiple projects.
- Allocate planning resources effectively to meet project and business needs.
- Foster a high-performance culture, ensuring consistent standards and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews, support career development, and identify training needs.
- Oversee the development, review, and approval of detailed project programmes (baseline, updates, and revisions).
- Ensure all programmes are compliant with contract requirements and company standards.
- Provide strategic input into tender programmes, methodologies, and sequencing.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and delays, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Establish and maintain robust programme controls, including progress tracking, earned value analysis, and KPI reporting.
- Provide regular consolidated reports on project performance to the Head of Planning and senior leadership.
- Analyse programme data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across projects.
- Collaborate closely with project directors, construction managers, commercial teams, and clients.
- Support project teams in managing client expectations related to scheduling and delivery.
- Lead planning-related discussions in progress meetings, workshops, and reviews.
- Identify programme risks and ensure mitigation plans are in place and tracked.
- Lead delay analysis assessments (e.g., EOT claims) in collaboration with the commercial team.
- Ensure accurate and auditable programme records are maintained.
- Drive standardisation of planning processes, tools, and reporting across all projects.
- Promote digital planning tools and innovation (e.g., BIM integration, 4D planning, QSRA etc).
What do you bring to the role?
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Advanced expertise in project planning and scheduling (Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts.
- Ability to influence decision-making at senior level.
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
- Significant experience (typically 8–12+ years) in construction planning.
- Proven experience in managing people.
- Strong knowledge of Irish construction environments and practices.
- Experience in sectors such as educational, healthcare, commercial, residential, data centres, pharmaceuticals, or infrastructure is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across Ireland as required.
- Strong IT and digital capability in planning tools.
- Commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.
