ERP Training Lead
Building a sustainable tomorrow
BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting an experienced ERP Training Lead to design, implement, and lead the training strategy for a major ERP transformation programme. This role can be based at any UK office location, with travel required and is a fixed term contract until June 2028.
This role will ensure that approximately 2,000 impacted users are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to adopt SAP S/4HANA and associated business process changes.
The Training Lead will report to the UK Learning Manager and have matrix reporting into the ERP Transformation Programme. They will work closely with Change, Communications, SMEs, and Programme stakeholders to deliver a comprehensive, role-based training approach that supports successful adoption and long-term business outcomes.
Making Possible
Training Strategy & Leadership
• Define and implement the overall ERP training strategy aligned with programme objectives
• Establish training governance, standards, and success measures
• Develop and maintain the training roadmap aligned to SAP Activate phases
• Ensure alignment between UK&I Learning, change management, and communications strategies
Training Needs Analysis
• Own and oversee the completion of the ERP Training Needs Analysis (TNA) across all business segments, functions, and roles, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment to programme milestones.
• Collaborate with Change Leads, BPMs, BPOs, SMEs, and business stakeholders to validate training requirements.
• Map all impacted users to the appropriate role-based curriculum, learning pathways, and training modules.
• Identify role-based requirements, learning paths, and deployment-specific training needs.
• Maintain traceability between business impacts, user groups, curriculum requirements, and training completion
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) ownership within Curriculum Design & Content Development
• Work with Business Process Owners and SMEs to ensure SOPs are developed, aligned, and integrated into the overall learning approach.
• Assess the impact of SOP development timelines on training activities and adapt training plans, resources, and delivery approaches accordingly.
• Ensure all training materials and learning assets reflect approved SOPs and business processes.
Strengthening Training Delivery & Readiness
• Ensure end-user training delivery is executed successfully and completed for all business-critical activities in advance of each go-live milestone.
• Partner with Learning Coordination team to monitor training completion, readiness, and risk areas, escalating issues where delivery could impact deployment readiness.
• Ensure training metrics support programme go/no-go decision making
Curriculum Design & Content Development
• Design role-based training curriculum aligned to business processes and system roles
• Partner with Leaning Academy team, SMEs, and Change teams to develop training content
• Oversee development of all training materials, including:
- eLearning modules
- Instructor-led training (ILT) materials
- Virtual training assets
- Toolkits, quick reference guides, and videos
• Ensure content quality, alignment with Learning Academy standards, consistency, and approval from BPOs and SMEs
• Work with Learning Academy team to align training materials with BAU requirements for ongoing use and potential future updates
Training Delivery & Readiness
• Collaborating with the Learning Academy on the design and implementation of the Train-the-Trainer and end-user training delivery
• Define and track training completion against programme milestones
• Develop and implement user readiness assessments
• Ensuring training supports go/no-go criteria for each deployment phase
Stakeholder Engagement & Adoption Support
• Collaborate with Change, Communications, SMEs, and Programme teams
• Support the development of super-user and champion networks
• Provide input into adoption planning and reinforcement activities
• Establish strong stakeholder relationships across business segments
Continuous Improvement & Hypercare
• Gather training feedback and measure effectiveness
• Continuously improve training approach and materials
• Organise refresher sessions and drop-in clinics during hyper-care
• Collaborating with the Learning Academy on transition to BAU training model

Required Qualifications & Experience
Essential Requirements
• Professional certification in Digital Education/Learning or Instructional Design
• Experience in training delivery within transformation programmes
• Proven experience in ERP (preferably SAP S/4HANA) training delivery
• Strong instructional design and curriculum development skills
• Experience conducting Training Needs Analysis (TNA)
• Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills
Technical Competencies
• Knowledge of learning methodologies and adult learning principles
• Experience with eLearning tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise, Camtasia& Vyond) and Learning Management Systems (LMS) (Success Factors)
• Understanding of ERP processes and system training requirements
• Strong planning, coordination, and delivery skills
• Data-driven approach to measuring training effectiveness
