Financial Services Manager - Cash and Banking

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Financial Services Manager – Cash and Banking . This position can be based across our Farnborough, Hemel Hempstead, or Kildare offices, with office attendance required a minimum of three days each week and frequent travel between locations.
This is a high-profile and impactful role at the heart of BAM UK & Ireland’s Financial Services function, reporting to the Financial Services Director. As a senior member of the Financial Services (FS) team, you will lead the back-office treasury function across the UK&I Division, ensuring effective cash management, liquidity planning, banking administration, and treasury governance, acting as the operational lead for treasury activities, driving continuous improvement, digitisation, reporting enhancements, and best practice across all treasury processes.
Making Possible
• Supporting an evolving Financial Services function for the UK&I Division, by owning and managing the Treasury and Cash Function within UK&I Division.
• Lead and coach a team to ensure all financial transactions relating to cash and treasury are processed correctly, completely and in a timely manner to ensure stakeholder requirements are met for both internal and external stakeholders, and to provide insightful management information to enable business decisions to be made on.
• Responsible for optimal and motivated staffing, ensuring an emphasis on workforce planning, both qualitatively and quantitatively, within the immediate team, to ensure all work is done as efficiently and effectively as possible. Taking responsibility for the mentoring, training and development of the team.
• Coordinate, plan and take responsibility for the quality and efficiency of the Treasury Function and cash management for the Division, including supporting cash-flow forecasting. Liquidity planning and optimising working capital across the Division.
• Ensure a high level of predictability and quality of the figures that the team reports, where the same assumptions and processes are used across Segments to achieve as much standardisation and consistency as possible, whilst ensuring compliance with all banking and treasury reporting obligations.
• Align with internal and external stakeholders (business colleagues, clients and suppliers) in a timely manner on financial transactions to enable a high quality of information processing and to support business processes, including managing the banking relationships on behalf of the Division and act as the primary contact for all banking partners. Acting as point of contact for the internal client. Building strong relationships with internal and external business stakeholders to achieve quality insights of needs and priorities and to create a platform for change.
• Ensure and support the introduction of a way of working where continuous improvement holds a central role. Recognise and identify process bottlenecks and work with the team to ensure these are ratified. Sharing End to End insights with stakeholders based on observations to make sure that root causes of issues are resolved and not just symptoms (process driven work).
• Drive improvements in treasury reporting, controls, governance and compliance across the Division.
• Deliver results and trends reporting to ensure senior management has insight into key information and developments therein. Review consolidated figures. Ensure correct and timely internal and external reporting.
• Acts, with the team, as Centre of Excellence for processes and systems.
• Ensure correct and complete documentation for internal and external audits.
• Strive for standardisation and a high quality of working. Lead and/or participate in working groups to improve End to End processes and systems.

• Accountant with a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Proven experience in cash management, liquidity planning, and treasury operations.
• Understanding of financial controls, governance, risk management, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to leverage data, analytics, and business insights to support decision-making and drive performance.
• Digital capability, with confidence in using technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Experience in working capital management and optimising financial performance.
• Proven resource and capacity management skills, ensuring effective planning and utilisation of people and resources.
