BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting an Master Data Specialist - Vendors to join our finance team out of the Hemel Hempstead office.
The Master Data Specialist - Vendors is responsible for the accurate creation, maintenance and governance of supplier master data within SAP/Jaggaer and associated systems. The role is critical in ensuring that vendor records are established and maintained in accordance with company policies, compliance requirements and agreed service levels. Working closely with Procurement, Finance, Commercial, Operations, IT and external suppliers, the role supports an efficient vendor onboarding process while maintaining the integrity, accuracy and quality of vendor data across the business. The role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, reporting, data governance activities and the development of master data processes and controls.
Making Possible
The role operates across multiple business units, including Construction, Civil Engineering, Ventures and Ireland, providing support to a broad range of stakeholders. Working as part of a small but high-profile team responsible for maintaining the integrity, governance and compliance of vendor master data across the organisation.
• Set up new vendor accounts within SAP/Jaggaer/COINS/Rental Results in line with agreed policies, procedures and service level agreements.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to obtain required documentation and information to support vendor onboarding and maintenance activities.
• Review, validate and maintain vendor master data to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance with company standards.
• Act as custodian of vendor master data, ensuring appropriate governance controls are applied to all data changes.
• Generate management information, reports and KPI metrics to monitor data quality, compliance and service performance.
• Maintain and update master data procedures, process documentation and governance controls.
• Support and continuously improve the vendor onboarding process to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
• Provide guidance and training to users on vendor onboarding and master data processes.
• Liaise with external data providers and compliance platforms, including Builders Profile and Constructionline, to ensure data accuracy and alignment.
• Assist the business and Master Data Manager with process improvement initiatives, system enhancements and new ways of working.
• Support CIS and IR35 governance processes where required.
• Respond to stakeholder enquiries and resolve vendor master data issues in a timely and professional manner

A critical member of the Master Data team within the Finance Shared Service function, supporting BAM UK & Ireland operations. Based primarily from the Hemel Hempstead office, with flexibility to work from other BAM locations as required

What do you bring to the role?
• Previous experience working in vendor master data, finance administration, accounts payable, procurement or a related discipline.
• Experience working within a construction or engineering environment would be advantageous.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organisation.
• Strong customer service focus with the ability to build lasting relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to understand both detailed transactional processes and wider business objectives.
• Experience analysing data and producing management reports and KPI information.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications; SharePoint knowledge desirable.
• Knowledge of CIS/RCT and IR35 processes would be advantageous.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and deliver results within agreed deadlines.
• Ability to review existing processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
