Intermediate Quantity Surveyor

We have an opportunity for a Intermediate or Section Quantity Surveyor to work within Yorkshire on the Collaborative Delivery Framework for the Environment Agency. The Framework covers the delivery of ESE and Construction Contracts for maintaining and renewing flood defences and associated infrastructure.

Your mission

As an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the following: 

  • Maintain effective communication with Clients, Project Management, Commercial department and site teams
  • Assist in preparing subcontract enquiries / quotation comparisons and subcontract documents
  • Commercial management of subcontractors including payments preparation, final account work, and inputting into dispute resolution.
  • Assist in cost monitoring of site resources
  • Assist in the production of monthly cost and value reports, quarterly reports and cashflow information
  • Assist in dealing with change management
  • Assist in the timely production of applications for payment in accordance with the conditions of contract
  • Be conscious of commercial advice being sought by the site team and given by more senior commercial staff, attend and provide input to project & commercial meetings
  • Understand and promote usage of Company Procedures and suggest improvements to senior management.

The following are desirable requirements:

  • Be working towards or achieved Technical Member of the CICES or Associate member of RICS
  • Evidence of involvement in and basic understanding of construction law, contractual relationships and key contractual requirements associated with a particular project
