KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and BAM UK & Ireland - BAM UK & Ireland's infrastructure segment is currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and we are seeking an experienced Commercial Administrator. 

 

Due to the site being a high-security military naval base, additional security checks will be required – a BPSS level of security clearance is necessary. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and who have been UK residents for the last 5 years can be considered for this role.

Making Possible

As a Commercial Administrator, you'll be working within the Devonport Dock team, supporting them by liaising with suppliers and sub-contractors.

 

Your day to day will include:

  • Assist with the processing and verification of supply chain payments, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and timelines.
  • Prepare and post cost journals, including cost reallocations and cost allocations across project work packages.
  • Support the timesheet journalling process, ensuring accurate labour cost capture and allocation.
  • Maintain and update commercial records, trackers, and reports to support project cost control and forecasting.
  • Liaise with internal departments (finance, procurement, site teams) and external suppliers to resolve queries and ensure smooth commercial operations.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly cost reports and commercial submissions.
  • Support the Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyors with ad hoc administrative and analytical tasks.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment
  • You possess strong organisational and IT skills

  • Enrolled on to commercial related academic qualification
