BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting an experienced IT Business Analyst on a 12 month fixed-term contract to support the delivery of high value digital and technology initiatives. Working on a hybrid basis from any of our Ireland or UK locations, you will play a critical role in shaping solutions, enabling effective delivery and ensuring technology adds real, measurable value to our business units.
Your mission
As an IT Business Analyst, you will deliver high quality insights, analysis and support that help our business optimise operations and achieve continuous improvement goals. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, translate requirements into clear deliverables, and collaborate with delivery teams operating in a hybrid Agile and DevOps environment. Your work will strengthen digital maturity, promote customer centric thinking and ensure predictable, value driven delivery outcomes.

• Build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders through proactive engagement and clear, consistent communication.
• Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions and cross functional engagement to drive shared understanding and alignment.
• Shape and refine well defined business problems, opportunities and solution options.
• Produce clear, unambiguous user stories, requirements and acceptance criteria to support efficient delivery.
• Develop high quality analysis artefacts such as process maps, data flows, wireframes and mock ups.
• Collaborate with PMO/Business Owners to maintain a prioritised and transparent backlog.
• Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to validate business needs, identify trends and strengthen decision making.
• Ensure solution options align with architecture, technology roadmaps, user experience goals and organisational strategy.
• Support business cases, including benefits identification, dependency analysis and evidence based recommendations.
• Work closely with developers, testers and delivery partners to ensure feasibility, clarity and alignment throughout the lifecycle.
• Support UAT planning and execution, including scenario creation and defect triage.
• Enable successful change adoption through training materials, user guidance and change readiness support.
• Validate delivered solutions post implementation and support continuous improvement.
• Contribute to the promotion of digital maturity, Hybrid/Agile ways of working and collaborative delivery practices.

What do you bring to the role?
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Experience in requirements engineering, process modelling, data analysis and Agile documentation.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross‑functional teams.
• Understanding of system interactions, integrations and architectural considerations.
• Experience facilitating workshops and supporting Agile ceremonies.
• Experience supporting user testing, solution delivery and change adoption.
• Experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role (typically 4+ years).
• Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban) and familiarity with methodologies such as PRINCE2.
• Experience producing user stories, acceptance criteria and non‑functional requirements.
• Experience using data to validate problems, quantify benefits and guide decisions.
• Demonstrated experience developing business cases, user stories, acceptance criteria and non‑functional requirements.
• Experience in data‑driven analysis to validate problems, quantify benefits and inform recommendations.
• Experience implementing new systems or supporting process improvements.
• Experience or professional certifications such as ISEB/BCS, IIBA, Agile BA, Scrum certifications, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma or relevant • diplomas are desirable (not essential).
