Senior Planner

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Senior Planner to join the London construction segment, supporting a portfolio of high profile projects across the region, contributing throughout both pre construction and delivery stages. Bringing proven experience in planning large, complex developments across multiple sectors, you will play a key role within our bid and construction teams - working in a culture defined by Proactive Ownership, Open Collaboration, Scalable Learning, and Predictable Performance
Making Possible
• Provide senior-level planning leadership across preconstruction and delivery phases, ensuring programme certainty through effective strategy, risk management and mitigation
• Work across a diverse portfolio of high-profile London projects (£50m–£200m+), contributing to major developments that shape the London skyline
• Lead the development of integrated, realistic and risk assessed programmes and methods, aligning construction, procurement and design to support efficient, on-time delivery
• Influence bid strategy and construction methods, ensuring robust, competitive and deliverable planning solutions
• Drive coordination and buildability through programme analysis, identifying opportunities to enhance safety, quality, sequencing and value
• Review and integrate subcontractor and specialist programmes, ensuring alignment with project requirements and overall delivery strategy
• Monitor programme performance through critical path analysis, progress reporting and cause-and-effect assessment, recommending and implementing recovery strategies and extensions of time where required
• Support the integration of planning with digital delivery platforms, enhancing programme visualisation and stakeholder understanding
• Lead programme workshops and engage collaboratively with project teams, clients and supply chain partners to ensure clear communication and alignment
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to planners, supporting capability development and promoting best practice across the region
• Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners throughout the project lifecycle
• Support commissioning and handover processes to ensure successful project completion

What do you bring to the role?
• An experienced Senior Planner with strong technical expertise in construction sequencing, interfaces and delivery across complex, large-scale building projects (commercial sector focus required)
• Proven track record working with Tier 1 main contractors on major projects within the London market, with multi-sector experience
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage complex building construction programmes, providing robust forecasting, risk management and programme assurance at a senior level
• Understanding of modern construction methods (MMC), sustainability requirements and digital construction practices
• Proficient in Asta Powerproject and Microsoft Office, with working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD advantageous
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently across multidisciplinary teams, clients and supply chain partners
• Knowledge of preconstruction processes, including single-stage and two-stage tendering
• Good understanding of NEC and JCT forms of contract and their impact on programme management
• Holds a relevant construction, engineering or design qualification, with (or working towards) professional accreditation such as CIOB
