About the role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a prestigious laboratory and research facility project in Galway. The project has successfully progressed through the structural and envelope phases and is now entering the complex fit-out, commissioning and handover stages.

The successful candidate will assume responsibility for taking the development from its current grey box stage through to practical completion, client handover and project close-out. This role requires an exceptional construction professional with a proven track record in delivering technically complex laboratory, pharmaceutical, life sciences, research, healthcare or high-specification commercial projects.
The role demands strong leadership capability, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to foster collaborative relationships with clients, design teams, specialist subcontractors and key stakeholders.

Making Possible

• Lead the project team through all remaining phases of delivery.
• Develop and maintain an effective project execution strategy.
• Drive programme certainty and ensure key project milestones are achieved.
• Manage all aspects of project delivery from grey box fit-out through commissioning and handover.
• Act as the primary point of contact for the client and key stakeholders.
• Develop trusted and collaborative relationships with client representatives.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation measures.
• Coordinate specialist subcontractors and design consultants.
• Ensure efficient sequencing of works, particularly M&E installation, laboratory fit-out, validation and commissioning activities.
• Work closely with the commercial team to manage project budgets.
• Monitor cost performance and identify risks and opportunities.
• Support procurement and subcontractor management activities.
• Ensure quality standards are achieved and maintained.
• Oversee inspection, testing, commissioning and validation processes.
• Drive completion of snagging and defects management processes.
• Maintain the highest standards of health and safety performance.
• Promote a positive safety culture throughout the project.
• Ensure compliance with all company and statutory requirements.
• Support sustainability and environmental objectives across the project.
• Other ad hoc duties as required.

What do you bring to the role?

• Degree qualified in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years' project management experience within the construction industry.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale laboratory, life sciences, pharmaceutical, research or healthcare projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing projects from fit-out through commissioning and handover.
• Strong understanding of complex building services and specialist laboratory installations.
• Excellent contractual and commercial awareness.
• Strong programme management capability.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
• Full driving licence.
