Commercial Assistant

At BAM Site Solutions, we provide company cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) across the group nationally. We're looking for a Commercial Assistant to provide essential support to Fleet operations, ensuring accurate costing, timely recharging, and aiding P&L management. You'll play a crucial role in driving transactional efficiency and aiding informed decision-making across the business.
Embedded within the Fleet in Wellingborough and reporting into the Commercial team.
Making Possible
- Ensure all fleet items (vehicle hire, maintenance, fuel, insurance) are costed correctly
- Verify charges and process recharges to internal clients in a timely manner
- Resolve billing queries and discrepancies efficiently
- Maintain accurate records of all fleet transactions
- Coordinate with finance and project teams to facilitate timely payments and cost allocation
- Provide close support to the Fleet management team on team P&L
- Collate and analyse transactional data relating to fleet operations
- Support management in understanding variances, trends, and cost drivers
- Develop and maintain vehicle-level P&L reports.
- Track costs, utilisation, and profitability across the fleet portfolio
- Identify and escalate risks and opportunities for commercial improvement
- Maintain structured document filing systems for commercial fleet data
- Collaborate with the wider commercial and operations teams
- Attend meetings and training to stay updated on processes
- Ensure compliance with commercial procedures and cost controls
- Support ad-hoc commercial analysis and projects as required IND1

What do you bring to the role?
We're looking for a numerate, analytical, and detail-oriented individual who is diligent and motivated. The ideal candidate will have:
- GCSEs in English and Mathematics (or equivalent)
- Previous commercial, finance, or fleet industry experience (advantageous but not essential)
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in transactional processing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Ability to understand and communicate transactional information clearly
